She returned to Australia to cover state politics in Queensland before moving to Canberra in 2002 to join the ABC's parliamentary team.

After a year covering the ups and downs of NSW State Politics, Emma returned to Canberra to report on federal politics for AM, PM and The World Today, and ABC TV News programs, including Lateline.
