Charles immediately pursues Madeleine, and Poune and Julien write a note to Julia to get her into the barn at the time Charles has arranged to meet Madeleine.
But inevitably, as the war breaks out and the sudden call to arms will send both the unsuspecting lodgers and the blissful relatives to the front, the unripe Julien will become the man of the house and the object of desire for the remaining women.
It's flat, tepid, utterly devoid of the slightest hint to humor you will hear occasionally some witty remarks, but wit does'nt make up for the lack of humor.
